Born: 3rd December, 1899

Born in Cuttack. Joined her husband in the freedom struggle. Devoted herself to the promotion of Khadi and welfare of women and children. Founded ‘Sevagarh', now famous as the nucleus of a many-sided programme of rural development, welfare of women, children and dalits.
